Veritas Plans Madrigal Feast

The students of Veritas Academy, a classical Christian school in Leola, invite the Lancaster community to a royal medieval banquet and masque performance. The Veritas Academy Madrigal Feast will be held on Friday, Dec. 3, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 4, at noon and 6:30 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 321 W. Chestnut St., Lancaster. This biennial school tradition is presented by the secondary school student theater, for students in seventh through 12th grades.

This event will usher guests into the royal hall of the king and queen and their lords, ladies, knights, and more, where they will enjoy a hearty three-course banquet catered by Hess's Barbecue and a performance presented by the jester and her troupe of actors. Throughout the event, guests will interact with traveling musicians, medieval merchants, monks, peasants, and nobility in an immersive medieval experience, which is peppered with Christmas cheer and music.

In keeping with tradition, the diners will become an audience to a comedic masque performance. This event's production of "A Midwinter's Dream Knight" is a mixed-up fairy tale, featuring stories and characters from Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel.

Seating is limited, and tickets are required. To purchase tickets, visit http://www.veritasacademy.com/madrigal. Separate costs have been set for adults and for children age 12 and under. For more information, contact Veritas Academy at 717-556-0690.
