The 18 seniors of Veritas Academy's Class of 2021 prepared and defended their capstone Senior Theses on May 10 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, culminating their yearlong research and refinement of logical premises and persuasive arguments on a topic about which they are passionate.

Each student spends months choosing and extensively researching the topic on which he or she then writes a comprehensive paper. This paper is refined and submitted to a group of panelists who have expertise on the topic. The student then gives a presentation summarizing the paper to an audience and the panelists, after which each panelist challenges the student with questions about his or her statements. Students are evaluated on their ability to defend their arguments, maintain poise, communicate effectively, and more in this required project.
