VFW sets benefit breakfast

Lititz Springs VFW Post 1463, 14 N. Spruce St., Lititz, will host a fundraising breakfast on Sunday, June 4, to benefit Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania (VOPA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building a tiny home village and community center for veterans without homes.

The breakfast will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. and will include a wide variety of foods. Walk-ins are welcome, and payment will be accepted at the door.

The next day, Monday, June 5, VOPA plans to break ground to build the 15 transitional tiny homes and the community center for local veterans, modeled after tiny home villages in other major cities. The future site, donated by philanthropist Peggy Grove, is a 5-acre plot of land along the Susquehanna River, south of PennDOT's Riverfront Office Center building in Harrisburg.
