The Central Pennsylvania Vietnam Round Table will meet on Thursday, Oct. 13, at Vietnam Veterans of America, Michael J. Novosel MOH Chapter 542, 8000 Derry St., Harrisburg, at 7:30 p.m.

Following a brief business meeting, Mike Groff from Lebanon will present "1st Air Cavalry Division in Vietnam: We Never Left," focusing on Groff's Vietnam experiences as an infantryman with 1st of the 5th/1st Air Cavalry Division. After graduating from Lebanon High School, Groff was drafted into the Army in 1966. He first went to Germany and then to Vietnam in 1968, where he served in I Corps for five months before being wounded. He was eventually medevaced to Tokyo and then to Walter Reed Medical Center. For service to his country, he received the usual Vietnam awards plus the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. He is now active with Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 542.
