Virtual 4-H Day Camp Scheduled

Lancaster County 4-H will offer a free two-week, virtual day camp as part of its partnership with Imagine Science for children age 8 or older as of Jan. 1. The Mars Base Summer Camp will run from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, July 5, to Thursday, July 8, and from Monday, July 12, through Thursday, July 15. Campers will explore the surface of Mars, build Mars Rovers and run them on an obstacle course, become outer space gardeners, play games, and do STEM challenges, activities, computer coding, and art.

A kit will be provided and must be picked up on Thursday, July 1, or Friday, July 2, at the Lancaster Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster. A supply list will also be provided. Most things on the supply list can be found easily at home.

The registration deadline is Friday, June 25. To register or obtain more details, contact Patti Van Brederode at pev3@psu.edu or the Lancaster County Extension Office at 717-394-6851. The event is free for current 4-H members, and there is a fee for nonmembers.
