Virtual FAFSA workshops slated

The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) will hold a series of free events to guide college-bound students and their families in completing the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and making smart financial decisions.

Filing the FAFSA online is the first step to determine if a student qualifies for a Federal Pell Grant, a PA State Grant, scholarships, institutional awards, and federal student loans.

All students and contributors, such as parents and spouses, must establish their federal student aid accounts at http://www.studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account at least four days prior to attending FAFSA events.

FAFSA Overview Line-by-Line will be held on Tuesday, April 9, at 6 p.m. The PHEAA Access Partners will present an overview of the 2024-25 process to file the FAFSA. To register, visit http://www.pheaa.org/virtual/index.shtml and scroll down to "Financial Aid and FAFSA Webinars."

A virtual FAFSA completion session will take place on Tuesday, April 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. The PHEAA Access Partners will be available in breakout rooms via Microsoft Teams to provide personal assistance to families in completing their FAFSA. To sign up, visit http://www.pheaa.org/college-planning/fafsa/help-events.shtml.
