Virtual Run/Walk To Benefit The Arc

In previous years, The Arc of Chester County, a nonprofit organization that supports people with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families, held a walking and running event that took place at West Goshen Community Park in West Chester. During the fundraiser, adults and youths alike walked through bubble stations along a 1-mile course or ran a 5K through adjacent neighborhoods.

As they did in 2020, event organizers have once again decided to make the event virtual due to the pandemic.

The Arc Bubble Walk & Run 2021 will take place on Sunday, May 16. The start time will be 9 a.m. following a live kickoff event at http://www.facebook.com/arcofchestercounty.

Participants are asked to walk 1 mile or run a 5K to support The Arc. Because the event is virtual, participants may run or walk in their own neighborhood, in parks, along trails or to any destination of their choice that day. Individuals and families are encouraged to share photos of their activities throughout the day at the aforementioned website with the hashtag #ArcChescoWalkRun2021.

A registration fee will be collected from participants. Online registration will end at midnight on Saturday, May 15. For more information and to register, visit http://www.arcofchestercounty.org/walkrun2021.

There is also an option to create or join a fundraising team without signing up to walk a mile or run a 5K. More information is available at the aforementioned website.

Prizes will be awarded to the top two fundraisers who raise more than $1,000. There will also be team prizes, including best costume, biggest team and most money raised.

Proceeds from The Arc Bubble Walk & Run will support The Arc of Chester County's programs and services, which include advocacy, children's early learning, family support services, employment and transportation.
