VITA program seeks volunteers

Life Transforming Ministries (LTM) operates as a nonprofit organization with a deep commitment to the community. One of LTM's significant community outreach programs involves offering free tax preparation and filing services to individuals and families with modest incomes, individuals with disabilities and those who have limited proficiency in English.

Volunteers are currently needed who are willing to undergo training for tax preparation in 2024, during the months of February, March and April.

LTM's VITA program, which stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, has been a vital part of the IRS's efforts for over four decades. Since 2004, the LTM VITA program has been an officially authorized IRS e-file provider, operating under the supervision of the Philadelphia IRS office.

LTM offers comprehensive IRS training to all volunteers. Once they have completed their training, they have the flexibility to create their own schedules. For those who may not be interested in tax-related roles, there are various non-tax volunteering opportunities available, including welcoming guests, photography and IT support.

Currently, VITA locations can be found in Coatesville, Downingtown, Exton, Phoenixville, Pottstown, Royersford, Parkesburg, Kennett Square and West Chester.
