Volunteers Sought for Pawpaw Festival

The Horn Farm Center, 4945 Horn Road, York, will host the 21st annual Pawpaw Festival on Saturday, Sept. 20, and is seeking volunteers to help staff the event.

More than 1,500 people attended the Horn Farm Center's Pawpaw Festival in 2024, where visitors from up and down the Eastern Seaboard sampled America's largest edible native fruit - the pawpaw - while enjoying local vendors, educational farm tours, and family-friendly activities.This year, the Horn Farm Center is seeking more than 60 volunteers to support the 2025 Pawpaw Festival. Volunteers will serve in roles such as supporting pawpaw fruit sales, monitoring and assisting traffic, facilitating activities, and engaging visitors. Volunteers will receive free full-day admission and priority access to purchase pawpaws, as well as lunch and treats.Individuals interested in volunteering at the festival may sign up for a volunteer shift by visiting http://www.hornfarmcenter.org/pawpawfest/ and scrolling down to find a link for volunteer registration. Volunteers are also asked to attend a one-hour virtual orientation on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m.Organized groups may also volunteer at the festival.
