Volunteers sought for STEM Summit

Lower Dauphin High School, 201 S. Hanover St., Hummelstown, will host the Junior Achievement of South Central PA STEM Summit on Thursday, April 25. At least five more volunteers are needed to make the program a success.

All 281 ninth-graders will be participating in daylong activities designed to inspire students to pursue careers in STEM fields. Volunteers will work alongside other volunteers to facilitate a 30-minute activity nine times during the day with small groups of students.

For details about what the volunteers will do, visit http://www.jascpa.org/stemsummittraining.

Volunteers do not need to have any specific background or training to help. Junior Achievement will provide training the morning of the event, and volunteers will receive a link to both written instructions and a brief training video when they sign up. Lower Dauphin High School will provide a light breakfast and lunch.
