Walks and hike planned

Governor Dick Environmental Center, 3283 Pinch Road, Mount Gretna, will offer two upcoming events. Activities are free and open to the public, but preregistration is required by contacting 717-964-3808 or governordick@hotmail.com and providing a name and phone number in case the program is canceled.

Two walks in September will offer participants the opportunity to learn how to identify different species of trees. The first walk will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16. The second event, geared for children, will take place on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 1:30 p.m.

A longer and faster-paced fitness hike will step off at 10 a.m. on Sept. 17. Attendees should wear proper footwear and bring water.
