Wayside plans Holy Week and Easter activities

Wayside Presbyterian Church, 600 Stony Battery Road, Landisville, will offer a variety of worship services during Holy Week, Sunday, April 13, to Sunday, April 20, followed by Holy Humor Sunday on Sunday, April 27.

Two services will be held on Palm Sunday, April 13: a 9 a.m. traditional service and a 10:30 a.m. contemporary service featuring Grace Notes, Wayside's praise band. A prayer labyrinth will be open for personal, spiritual walks and reflection from 9 a.m. to noon on April 13 to Maundy Thursday, April 17, as well as from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 14, to April 17. A Maundy Thursday reflective service at 6:30 p.m. will include music by the church's bell choir and Communion.

Three Easter services will be held. A sunrise gathering will take place at 6:30 a.m. in the church pavilion or indoors in the event of inclement weather. A 9 a.m. traditional service will feature congregational singing and a choir anthem, and a 10:30 a.m. contemporary service will include upbeat singing and special music by Grace Notes.

Holy Humor Sunday on April 27 will celebrate Jesus' resurrection and signify the message that God gets the last laugh over sin, death, and the devil. Services will be held at 9 and 10:30 a.m.
