Wayside to host Paint Night for kids

Wayside Presbyterian Church, 600 Stony Battery Road, Landisville, will hold a Paint Night for children and youths in kindergarten through 12th grade on Wednesday, May 1, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Local artist Maria Hershey of Hershey Pottery will lead the group in a step-by-step canvas painting activity. Parents may drop off their children or stay during the event. There is no fee, but preregistration is required at http://www.waysidepc.org. Space is limited.

This program is the third paint event led by Hershey, a potter. Kids will paint tulips on actual canvases using acrylic paint. Wayside's youth team will support and coach the students. No prior experience is required. Participants should bring a smock or wear old clothes.

Wayside will begin its summer service schedule on Sunday, May 26. Each week, the church will host one worship service on Sundays at 10 a.m.; the service will blend traditional and contemporary styles. During the school year, two styles of Sunday morning worship are offered, with a traditional service featuring the choir from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by refreshments and fellowship, and an informal contemporary service with Grace Notes, Wayside's praise band, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
