Wear Red Day Set For Feb. 4

The American Heart Association has announced its "Reclaim Your Rhythm" initiative in connection with National Wear Red Day, Friday, Feb. 4. Go Red for Women will promote easy opportunities for women to build healthy habits that work best for their life.

In accordance with the "Reclaim Your Rhythm" theme, women are encouraged to crank up the tunes and get their groove on.

All community members are encouraged to wear red on National Wear Red Day, Feb. 4, to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease. Red dress pins and other apparel are available at http://www.shopheart.org.

In addition, people may make a donation to support the work of the American Heart Association at http://www.wearredday.org. Big Lots and the Big Lots Foundation will match online donations on National Wear Red Day up to $333,333.

Donations will also be accepted at the register at CVS Health, the national sponsor of the Go Red for Women movement. Donations can also be made online at http://www.CVSHealth.com/GoRed.

Community members may join Research Goes Red, a collaboration between the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement and Verily's Project Baseline to engage more women directly to participate in research.

Anyone who would like to join the conversation online may use #WearRedDay, #HeartMonth and #GoRedforWomen on social media and tag @AHAPennsylvania on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
