Wentz honored for athletic and academic achievement

Dana Wentz of Leola was among the Kutztown University women's soccer players who were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced by the organization on Nov. 22. The CSC Academic All-District teams recognize student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.

This year marks the second CSC Academic All-District nod for Wentz, who also previously received the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award.

Honorees will advance to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced on Dec. 20 for women's soccer.

Wentz was also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Team for the first time. Wentz was named to the second team. Wentz started all 22 games at fullback this past season, helping form one of the most formidable defensive units in the region. The Conestoga Valley product also added an assist in a win over Concord on Sept. 2.

The Golden Bears ended the season 15-2-5 (12-0-4 PSAC East) and went unbeaten in the regular season for the first time in program history. Kutztown won its first PSAC Tournament game since 2017 and won an NCAA Tournament game for the second straight year.
