Brian Williams, son of Christopher and Jamie Williams of Manheim, won the East Petersburg Woman's Club scholarship. Brian plans to attend the University of Southern Illinois' aviation flight school with the goal of becoming a commercial airline pilot. While at Hempfield, Brian was an excellent student and played junior varsity baseball and varsity football.

The recipient of the scholarship must have attended East Petersburg Elementary School for at least three years and must have participated in one extracurricular activity or have 32 volunteer hours throughout the 2022-23 school year.

The Woman's Club raises money for this annual scholarship through its perennial plant sale in April. All plants are raised by the women and sold over a three-day period at a home along Graystone Road in East Petersburg.
