Wine tasting fundraiser planned

The Greystone Auxiliary will host a wine tasting event featuring former Eagles coach and NFL Hall of Fame honoree Dick Vermeil. The event will be held at Radley Run Country Club, 1100 Country Club Road, West Chester, from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 23.

Vermeil will feature his wines from the Napa Valley in California. He began his foray into winemaking in 1999, and today Vermeil Wines offers 11 different wines.

The event will also include a silent auction and a giveaway drawing for a 14-karat diamond necklace donated by Kaplan Jewelers; tickets may be purchased for the drawing. Vermeil will be joined by former Eagles players, including Kevin Reilly.

The Greystone Auxiliary was formed in 2004 as one of 10 branches of the Women's Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital. The Greystone Auxiliary contributes to the Women's Auxiliary's pledge of $2 million toward the hospital's goal to bring together the most state-of-the-art services in diagnostics, treatment, and academic advancements in breast health.

The Women's Auxiliary was established in 1893, just one year after the hospital's founding, and includes women ranging in age, background, and life experiences. The Auxiliary has long supported new programs and services to improve the health of the community. The Auxiliary has a membership of over 300 people and raises funds through various special events and projects.
