Winter History Class Planned

The Historic Ephrata Cloister will offer its Winter History Class on Thursdays, Feb. 4 through April 1. Each morning includes two sessions starting at 9 and 10:30 a.m.

With the concern for everyone's health and safety, the historic site is currently closed, but the learning opportunities provided in this nine-week winter series will continue virtually this year. The schedule of presentations includes talks on Pennsylvania German illuminated manuscripts, house blessings, distant historic communities, history, and some colorful characters from the past.

Advance registration is required. Separate fees have been set for members of the Ephrata Cloister Associates, for nonmembers, and for single-day attendees. Fees are for one computer link. Participants will need to download the free Zoom software to view the program. Each week registrants will receive the Zoom link to attend the program. The full schedule of presentations and details about registration can be found at https://ephratacloister.org/winter-history-class-2021/.

The Winter History Class is a program supported by the Ephrata Cloister Associates, the nonprofit organization that works in partnership with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission to share the stories of the National Historic Landmark, which preserves the place where Ephrata began.
