The Hempfield Woman's Club Inc. awarded a $1,200 scholarship at Hempfield High School's Senior Awards Night at Hempfield High School on May 17. The recipient is Kassidy Felsinger, daughter of Kristen and Robert De La Rosa of Landisville.

At Hempfield, Kassidy participated in cheerleading, track and field, diving, Varsity Club, Red Cross Club and National Honor Society. In the community, she helped to set up and run youth cheerleading groups.

Kassidy will attend University of Pittsburgh in the fall to major in biology or biomedical engineering with a specialty in orthopedic biomechanics or cell, tissue and genetic engineering. She plans to be a Pitt cheerleader.

Hempfield Woman's Club Inc. has awarded scholarships totaling over $70,000 to Hempfield High School seniors for approximately 40 years.
