Woman's Club Installs Officers

The Millersville Woman's Club held its annual installation dinner at the Mountville Family Restaurant on May 18. Officers for the upcoming 2021-22 club year were installed by past president Carol Goss. These officers are Diane Duell, president; Louise Brown, first vice president; Karen Choppa, second vice president; Jacqueline Shaw, recording secretary; and Nancy Dornsife, corresponding secretary; and Linda Davis, treasurer.

The club was founded in 1957 by a group of women in the Millersville community. It is a nonprofit civic club with a focus on education. For most of its 64 years, the club has presented scholarships and cash awards to Penn Manor High School graduates, along with donations to many groups in the greater Millersville area. The club maintains the flower bed at the entrance to Freedom Park beside John Herr's Market. Numerous fundraisers are held throughout the year, and proceeds enable the club to donate to local and communities and beyond.

The club meets on the third Tuesday of September through May at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millersville at 7 p.m. Meetings are held at 1 p.m. in January and February. Each month, a program is presented, followed by a business meeting. Women of Millersville and the surrounding communities are invited to attend the meetings.
