Women's Club to Meet

The Millersville Woman's Club will meet at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 222 N. George St., Millersville.

Eleanor Isaacson will talk about her life and the book she co-wrote, "Dancing From Darkness," which won the 2018 Memoir of the Year award given by the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association. Isaacson was born in New Jersey but moved to Nazi Germany, where she was abandoned as a toddler. She survived bombings, starvation, and Russian occupation all before escaping back to the United States at the age of 13. When she came back to the U.S., she could not speak English and had no family. She overcame many obstacles to graduate with a double bachelor's degree, became a successful business entrepreneur, and married renowned scientist Dr. Robert Isaacson. She is also a competitive ballroom dancer with more than 100 first-place wins.
