Women of all ages and preschool children are invited to attend Neighbors Sharing and Caring, a women's ministry of the Chiques Church, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, on Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 9 to 10:45 a.m. In a message titled "Created to Bear Fruit," Sylvia Gearhart will speak on what it means to bear fruit.

Raised on a chicken farm, Gearhart is the youngest of six. When she was growing up, she spent many summers at Camp Swatara, where she learned how to cook for large groups. Using her knack for sewing and cooking, she graduated from Messiah College with a degree in home economics education. Throughout the years, she has embraced her love for cooking as a way of ministering to others through hospitality. Gearhart is a wife, mother and grandmother.
