Women's Group To Meet

Women of all ages and preschool children are invited to attend Neighbors Sharing and Caring, a women's ministry of the Chiques Church, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, on Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 9 to 10:45 a.m.

Julie Henning will share "A Rose in a Ditch." From the streets of Busan, South Korea, to a house with a white picket fence in Souderton, Henning will share her journey from her Amerasian roots to life with the famous author Pearl S. Buck and becoming part of the family of God.

Henning was born in South Korea. Her father was an American G.I. whom she never knew, and her mother was Korean and raised her alone until she died. Henning was 13 when she became an orphan. She was brought to America by author Pearl S. Buck and adopted by a family in Pennsylvania. Being Amerasian, she became a spokesperson on behalf of her people and their plight. Henning is now a speaker and author who recognizes God's grace and sovereignty throughout her life.

During the program, child care will be provided for infants through prekindergartners. Readers may contact Bonnie at 717-361-2613 or Veronica at 717-626-7603 for more information and a copy of this year's schedule.
