Women's group will gather

The Lancaster County Coterie Club will hold its second meeting of the new season on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 11:30 a.m. at Conestoga County Club, 1950 Stone Mill Road, Lancaster.

The group will meet for lunch, to socialize and to hear guest speaker Brian Ombaji, who will talk about his efforts to bring soccer to inner-city youths. A former soccer star, Ombaji founded the All-Football Club (AFC) Lancaster Lions, an education-through-athletics program open to boys and girls living within the inner-city.

The ladies of Coterie Club, which means "circle of friends," build relationships through a variety of activities, including bridge, pinochle, book club, gardening, antiquing, stitching, service, games and food -related events.

The meetings are for women looking to make new friends, as well as those who are new to the area. For more information or to register for the October luncheon, call or text Anne Marie at 703-929-1375.
