World War II veteran to speak

The Central Pennsylvania World War II Roundtable will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, April 4, at 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 433 E. Main St., Hummelstown. World War II U.S. Army veteran Bud Gahs will speak.

Gahs servedĀ as a private in the 42nd Infantry Division after getting drafted in 1943. Initially a truck driver, he entered combat in 1944 and earned a Bronze Star during the Battle of the Bulge. In April 1945, he helped liberate Dachau Concentration Camp, citing the reaction of prisoners as the "most moving moment of my life."
