WWII Roundtable To Host Author

The Central Pennsylvania World War II Roundtable will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 433 E. Main St., Hummelstown.

Local author Larry Alexander will share accounts of conversations with Maj. Dick Winters during the process of writing "Biggest Brother: The Life of Major Dick Winters, the Man Who Led the Band of Brothers." The book, released in 2006, five years before Winters' death, was a New York Times bestseller.

Alexander has authored many WWII books and written articles that were published in America in World War II, Valor, and American Legion magazines. He worked for 23 years as a reporter/columnist for a local newspaper and won numerous state-level awards for excellence in journalism, including several Keystone Awards from the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association.

Alexander holds a bachelor's degree in history from Millersville University and is lifelong resident of Lancaster County.
