YCSWA Considers Landfill Reuse

York County Solid Waste Authority (YCSWA) is in the process of planning to ensure the continued safe, responsible disposal of the county's waste. As part of YCSWA's regular operations, staff members constantly evaluate the waste disposal system's current and future capacity, which includes considering reusing the York County Sanitary Landfill (YCSL).

As the area's population continues to grow, it is YCSWA's responsibility to ensure that current and future York County residents can responsibly and affordably dispose of their municipal solid waste. YCSWA regularly considers long-term landfill capacity in the county, including exploring the possibility for smart YCSL reuse. Future site development would be done in collaboration with the community.

Residents with questions can email YCSWA at sitereuse@ycswa.com. YCSWA will post updated information at http://www.ycswa.com/york-county-sanitary-landfill-possible-reuse/.
