YMCA Posts Opportunities To Help Others

The seven branches of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine are mobilizing members and supporters for a mission of kindness. Members and nonmembers are invited to stop by the membership desk at any YMCA of Greater Brandywine branch to pick up a Thanksgiving shopping list and shopping bag. They should then return the bag filled with the makings of a full Thanksgiving meal. Nonmembers who volunteer to donate a meal as part of the Thanksgiving basket drive will receive an offer to join the YMCA without the joiner fee.

YMCA-organized missions of kindness will not stop with the Thanksgiving basket program. The Holiday Angels program, which connects donors with kids who otherwise will not receive holiday gifts, will kick off on Monday, Nov. 21. Additionally, the Y partners annually with the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation to provide new winter coats to children in need.
