York JCC receives grant

The York Jewish Community Center (JCC) received grant funding from the state's competitive Local Share Account (LSA) program. The JCC will receive $216,750 for a roof renovation.

Portions of the York JCC's original black rubber roof have developed leaks threatening to damage the underlying roof decking as well as equipment and other material below the leaks. As the leaks continue to worsen, the JCC's ability to continue to provide high-quality services to the community is greatly reduced.

Each year, the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), which holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments on behalf of the commonwealth, distributes funds to local governments and programs.

The York Jewish Community Center seeks to create opportunities for everyone, inspire relationships, build a community of well-being, and enhance Jewish communal life.
