Harrisburg Christian Performing Arts Center (HCPAC), 1000 S. Eisenhower Blvd., Middletown, will offer a new performing arts class and production, "The Iliad, The Odyssey, and All of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes or Less." The program is open to students in grades five through 12.

Classes will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m. Performances will take place on Friday, May 19, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, May 20, at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, May 21, at 2 p.m.

On a simple stage, with the clock ticking in front of everyone's eyes, the cast speeds through all of Greek mythology. In this show, the myths are updated with the intention of making them easier to understand.

Casting for the performance will be held after a short introductory period of classes. All students signed up for the class will be fully involved in the experience, and each child is guaranteed a part in this production. Rehearsals will typically be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Saturday mornings.

A parent or guardian is required to attend the mandatory parent meeting on the first scheduled night of class from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Anyone unable to attend this meeting should email support@thehcpac.org.

While late registrations may be accepted, shirts are only guaranteed to students registered before the first class.
