The Lititz recCenter, 301 W. Maple St., will host its 19th annual Youth Triathlon on Friday, Oct. 3. The event is designed to offer an opportunity for children ages 5 to 12 to engage in a fun, noncompetitive athletic event

Participants will be grouped by age categories. Essential gear such as a swimsuit, towel, running shoes and a bike with a helmet is required, ensuring each child is prepared for the swimming, biking and running segments.

A bike safety check will be available from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m., ensuring all equipment is in top condition before the event. The swimming portion will be conducted at the indoor pool, and all participants are required to swim at least one length. The event will conclude at approximately 6 p.m.
