Buckskins Hold of Township in 1-0 Soccer Final
A pair of recent successes highlight a marked improvement for Buckskin boys' soccer as the conclusion of the 2021 season draws closer.
It took just one goal to get the job done in a 1-0 triumph over Manheim Township on October 7th.
Tyler Scheetz set the stage, dishing a pass to Landen Sunday who delivered the ball into the netting during the first half.
"In this game we did not create too many moments to finish, but the one we did went in," noted head coach Dave Hartlaub. "It was a solid team win."
Keeper Luke Snader gathered five saves to preserve the shutout.
Strong senior leadership is evident on the team, with 11 graduating seniors, and the club took a moment that evening to honor Braxton Blessing, Ashton Herr, Kyle Hutchinson, Jared Kime, Jarvis Li, Christopher Marston, Samuel Ndegwa, Tyler Scheetz, Luke Snader, Caden Wanger, and Kyle Wenger.
"Eleven seniors who have been very dedicated to the program," explained Hartlaub. "They are a close bunch who love the game and are up for a challenge."
In a nonleague hosting of Exeter on the 9th, CV rose to a 3-0 triumph with Wanger going on a scoring blitz, notching all three CV goals within a seven-minute span in the second half.
Blessing supplied an assist and Snader collected three saves in the shutout.
The club enters the final stretch sporting a league record of 4-5-1 and 5-8-2 overall which leaves the door open for a possible District III playoff berth. for more photos see townlively.com
