Conestoga Sharks Swim Team Seeks Participants

The Conestoga Sharks will return to the pool this summer and compete in the Lancaster Summer Swim League. Due to the pandemic, the team has not been able to participate for the last two years.

Parents who have a child between ages 5 and 18 who wants to join the team may visit https://conestogasharks.swimtopia.com. Registration should be completed by Friday, May 20. Those who would like to sponsor the team may contact Holly Wolpert at holly177@gmail.com.

The Conestoga Sharks swim team dates to at least the 1970s. The goal of the team is to provide a balance between being competitive and enjoying the sport. The goal is for every member to have an opportunity to improve his or her swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to elite competitor. In addition, there is a focus on instilling team camaraderie and a love of the sport.

Run Valley Exteriors, a team sponsor, is holding an aluminum can drive to benefit the Sharks. Community members may drop off aluminum cans at the Conestoga Community Pool, 49 Kendig Road, Conestoga, from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, or at Full Circle Recycling, 965 Lancaster Pike, Quarryville, between now and June 4. Community members are asked to notify Full Circle that their cans are for the Sharks.
