Keeler Earns Eagle Scout Award

Owen Keeler, a graduating senior at Lampeter-Strasburg High School, earned the rank of Eagle Scout on Nov. 2, 2021, and received his Eagle Scout Award in a Court of Honor ceremony on May 22, 2022, at Ascension Lutheran Church in Willow Street.

Owen, 17, is the son of Kyle and Tina Keeler of Lancaster. He began his Scouting journey in 2010 as a Tiger Scout in Pack 286. After earning the Arrow of Light in 2015, Owen crossed over to Boy Scout Troop 393, where he earned his rank advancements and 28 merit badges.

During his Scouting career, Owen participated in numerous campouts, troop activities and service projects. He has held the positions of quartermaster and patrol leader. For his Eagle Scout project, Owen worked with West Lampeter Township and led a group of Scouts to upgrade the benches and provide a new utility shed at the baseball field between Main Street and Batt Avenue in Willow Street.

At Lampeter-Strasburg, Owen played the saxophone in marching band, concert band and jazz band. After high school, he plans to attend Duquesne University to study physical therapy.
