MAHS Announces Athletic Hall Of Fame Honorees
Middletown Area High School (MAHS) has announced its Athletic Hall of Fame's Class of 2022. The newest inductees were selected by the Middletown Area Alumni Association's Hall of Fame Committee and will be inducted at the homecoming alumni dinner on Friday, Oct. 14. The honorees are as follows.
Kyle Jules, Class of 1977, was a member of the football and basketball teams. He won several state and district track and field championships.
Dave Yohn was MAHS' football coach from 1968 to 1975. Under his leadership, the team won five CAC titles and had three undefeated seasons with a record of 71-13-2.
Steve Conjar, Class of 1978, was a member of the football and track and field teams. He later became the all-time tackle leader at Temple University with 492 tackles, a record that remained unbroken until 2015.
Tyler Nauman, Class of 2007, was a wrestler who won the state championship in 2007 and three district championships. He was also a standout at the University of Pittsburgh.
Kris Smith, Class of 1986, played softball, tennis and basketball and was the girls' basketball scoring leader for many years with 1,295 points.
Bob Kinsey, Class of 1963, played football and basketball at MAHS and also served in coaching, athletic training, and refereeing roles. He played in the Big 33 and played football at Gettysburg College.
Crawford Hunter, Class of 1968, played football, participated in track and field, and was a referee. He was a two-time District 3 track champion and Big 33 player.
The Hall of Fame team is the 1948 football team. The Blue Raiders went 11-0, scoring 362 points while giving up only 32 points with seven shutouts.
The homecoming alumni dinner will begin at 6 p.m. on Oct. 14 at Middletown Area High School, 1155 N. Union St., Middletown. The event is open to the public.
