Servant Stage plans Christmas show

Servant Stage will present a new, original Christmas revue show, "Jingle Bell Jukebox," at venues across Lancaster County. Upcoming performance locations will include The Junction Center, 1875 Junction Road, Manheim, from Friday to Sunday, Dec. 1 to 3; Lancaster Alliance Church, 210 Pitney Road, Lancaster, from Thursday to Sunday, Dec. 7 to 10; and Lancaster County Christian School, 2390 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, from Friday to Sunday, Dec. 15 to 17.

With a cast of more than two dozen local performers of a range of ages backed by a live, five-piece band, "Jingle Bell Jukebox" includes dozens of popular holiday standards, along with homages to some of the most famous renditions of those songs. Whether it be the Jackson 5's "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" or The Drifters' "White Christmas," this show includes some of the most well-known pop Christmas music from the second half of the 20th century. Along the way, the show highlights many Christmas traditions, the nostalgia and magic surrounding the season, and - in a tribute to "A Charlie Brown Christmas" - traces the tidings of comfort and joy to the Nativity. "Jingle Bell Jukebox" featues high-energy dancing to tunes like "Jingle Bells" and "It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year"; ensemble ballads such as Amy Grant's "Grown-Up Christmas List" and the sacred tune "O Holy Night"; and an audience Christmas carol sing-along. The show's creator and producer is Tyler Hoover.

All performances are offered at pay-what-you-will prices as part of Servant Stage's mission to make performances accessible to everyone in the community. For more information and to reserve tickets, visit http://www.servantstage.org or call 717-455-0255.
