Student-athletes participate in Signing Day ceremony
Nine senior student-athletes at Conestoga Valley (CV) High School have committed to playing their respective sports at the collegiate level after graduation this spring. They were recognized on Feb. 7 at the school's National Signing Day ceremony.
The honorees were Dominick Epstein, Noah Harrison, Morgan Martin, Isabella Rodriguez, Savannah Santucci, Bennett Sauder, McKenna Scott, Soren Stoltzfus, and Danae Ulrich.
Dominick, son of Brett and Bobbi Jo Epstein, was a two-year varsity starter and three-year member of the Buckskins football team at tight end. The 2023 squad qualified for the district championships for the first time in 10 years. Dominick is also a four-year member of the CV track and field team. He intends to major in sports management and play football at Division III Alvernia University.
Noah is the son of Jessica and Scott Harrison. Noah is a faceoff specialist and midfielder for the CV boys' lacrosse team of which he has been a member all four years of high school. Noah earned Lancaster-Lebanon (L-L) League Section 2 Second-Team All-Star recognition in 2022 and helped the Buckskins qualify for the district championships twice during his career. He was also a three-year member of CV's football team and played club lacrosse for IM3, earning the Jim Fiora Class Act Award and the Steven Stockwell Award. Noah is active in the youth group at his church and is a Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS) leader. He plans to study computer science and play lacrosse for Division III Juniata College.
Morgan is the daughter of David and Karie Martin and a three-year varsity player on the girls' volleyball team. She earned a starting position and the title of team captain her senior year, a year in which she also earned L-L Section 1 All-Star status. The Buckskins qualified for the district playoffs two out of her four years and qualified once for the L-L League playoffs. Morgan also played two years of basketball at CV and is a member of the Nook Volleyball Academy. Off the court, she is a four-year honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society (NHS). She intends to major in biochemistry and play volleyball for Division II Thomas Jefferson University.
Isabella, daughter of Ines Justiniano and Leo Rodriguez, is a three-year starter for the CV softball team. She plays travel ball for the PA Krunch. Outside of softball, Isabella had an editorial published in a local newspaper this year. She will major in human services and play softball for Division II (junior college) Lackawanna College.
Savannah is the daughter of Stefanie and Joel Ayers. A defender for the Buckskins soccer team, Savannah played four years and was a two-year varsity player. She is a distinguished honor roll student and a member of NHS and the Science National Honor Society. She also volunteers in the nursery at her church. Savannah intends to study nursing and play soccer for Division III Lebanon Valley College.
Bennett is the son of Brad and Sarah Sauder. He played volleyball for three years for CV at the libero position and was a two-year member of the varsity team. He helped the Buckskins qualify for the district championships one of those three years. In addition, he played soccer for the Buckskins for three years. Bennett is first chair in the orchestra, a youth group student leader, a member of FCS, a volunteer for Real Life Community Services, and a kids' ministry volunteer. He will major in business with a minor in Bible studies and also play volleyball for Division III Lancaster Bible College.
McKenna, daughter of Christopher and Melissa Scott, was a four-year member of CV's girls' soccer team. She was also a member of the track and field team for two seasons and the lacrosse team for one year. McKenna is a member of the Lancaster Inferno club soccer team. Outside of athletics, she is an honor roll student and a four-year member and the current vice president of SADD. She was also involved in Readers Helping Readers as a junior and senior. McKenna will study nursing and play soccer for Division III Lebanon Valley College.
Soren, son of Marlena Stoltzfus, is an offensive lineman who was a three-year varsity starter for the Buckskins football team and served as team captain. He was a three-time First Team L-L League Section 2 All-Star and, as a senior, was named First Team All-League and Outstanding Lineman of the Year, as he helped CV to the district playoffs for the first time in 10 years. Soren is also a two-year varsity starter and the current captain of CV's lacrosse team. He is an honor roll student. Soren will study mechanical engineering and play football for Division II Slippery Rock University.
Danae is the daughter of Kurt and Beth Ulrich. Danae was a two-year varsity starter on CV's field hockey team as a midfielder. She also played club field hockey for Xcalibur. In addition to playing field hockey for the Buckskins, Danae is a four-year starter for the girls' lacrosse team. She is an honor roll student, president of NHS, and a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Science National Honor Society. She will major in biology with a biomedical concentration and also play field hockey for Division III Messiah University.
