UDSF posts football and cheerleading program

The United Disabilities Services Foundation (UDSF) will offer its Challenger Football and Cheerleading League at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster. Games will be held every Saturday from Aug. 3 to Oct. 19.

The UDSF Challenger Football and Cheerleading League provides opportunities for people ages 8 to 21 with disabilities in Lancaster and surrounding cities to exercise while having fun. Along with teaching football and cheerleading fundamentals, the league gives players the opportunity to participate in a group activity where they can learn skills, interact socially with other individuals and develop friendships.

The program is also looking for volunteers to be Challenger Buddies to encourage players around the field and help with passing and catching. Volunteers over 18 will need a criminal background check and a child abuse clearance.
