"Ruben Mumper didn't lose a match at 152 all day," head coach Nick Evans pointed out. "The Garcia brothers stepped it up. They did well."

Sergio Garcia posted a technical fall at the 172-pound weight class of the C.B. East match. Scott Garcia pinned Ayden Stout at 189.

"Brotzman's weight class was tough," Evans said. "He lost 1-0 to the Carlisle kid who was a state qualifier - Layton Schmick. But the CB East kid he beat won his match against Schmick."

In the Weiser match, Landon Keller (139) Mumper (152) Caidyn Leaf (160) and Daniel Viscelli (215) also had pins. Mark Overlander won by a 19-4 technical fall at 133 and Landon Baughman majored at 145.

With a Garden Spot forfeit at 145 and victories by falls at 152 and 160 - Mumper and Leaf - the Indians had their 36-24 winning margin.

Asked of the 172-pound critical battle with Overlander, a junior, Evans replied, "It also helps that 172 was a nice weight class for us to start at. I knew if we were to start with a win there and even if we were to lose a couple, Brotzman would come in for us at 285.
