Village Library Plans Activities

The Village Library of Morgantown, 207 N. Walnut St., has posted its upcoming programs. Additional information is available by calling 610-286-1022 or emailing smolibrary@gmail.com.

Weekly activities will include Puzzles and Pals on Tuesdays from 1 to 2 p.m., for seniors; pinochle on Wednesdays from noon to 5 p.m. for seniors, with no registration required; tai chi on Thursdays from 9 to 10 a.m., for adults; and chess on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon, for people of all ages.

The library will host a movie matinee every Friday this summer from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The movie will be appropriate for people of all ages. Attendees may bring a snack, pillow, and blanket. On July 3 the movie will be "Johnny Tremain," and the library will provide popcorn.

Two children's programs will be held in observance of the United States' 250th anniversary. A celebratory program will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, and a story time will occur from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 2.

The library will be closed for Independence Day on Saturday, July 4.

The Common Ground Ladies Book Study will meet on Monday, July 6, from 11 to 12:30 p.m. in the playroom. The group will discuss "Am I Messing Up My Kids?" by Lysa TerKeurst. Copies of the book are available to borrow from the library. Attendees are welcome to bring their children and a lunch to the gathering.

A representative of Wellcare will be at the library on Tuesday, July 7, from 1 to 2 p.m. to answer questions about Medicare Advantage plans.

The Yocum Institute for Arts Education will offer a "Build a Dinosaur" activity for children on Wednesday, July 8, from 10 to 11 a.m.
